SOUTHAMPTON, NY “There was a few gusts, yes. You could get the wrong gusts at the wrong time, for sure, but that’s golf. As I said, they couldn’t have done move with the setup really. Probably 18 is the easiest pins they’ll ever put out on the golf course, and the tees were all up….
SOUTHAMPTON, NY For the second year in a row, we travel from Canada’s national championship to ours. As we tuned in to TPC Toronto, I kept wondering if this is a reasonable preview for Shinnecock Hills Golf Club? There was wind. Driving the golf ball in play has value, and players were tested on various…
Our runner-up trend continues at Read The Line. Charley Hull marks our 9th second-place outright prediction in 33 events this season! Nineteen PGA TOUR and 14 LPGA events previewed in 2026, 18 podium results, and three wins. In 55% of tournaments covered this year, we have finished in third place or better. Second place doesn’t pay the…
DUBLIN, OH Russell Henley birdied his last four holes on Sunday to close the Charles Schwab Challenge. In doing so, Henley won for the second time in as many seasons at the home of one of golf’s greatest players. Winning at BAY Hill and Colonial is no small feat, and for a player who has…
Scottie Scheffler did not record a score of five (or more) at TPC Craig Ranch until the twelfth hole on Sunday. That was his only five in 72 holes. Wyndham Clark made 275′ of putts over the weekend, and that completes our recap of the CJ Cup Byron Nelson. Let’s hope for firmer conditions in…
Aaron Rai had a 1.9% chance of winning the PGA Championship when he made the turn on Sunday. Everyone knows I love competitive chaos, and Aronimink achieved it. Congratulations to Rai and his entourage, the PGA of America, and the MVPs of last week, the members of Aronimink Golf Club. Excluding Augusta National, I cannot…
NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA Plenty of narratives (wagering or otherwise) circulated ahead of the 108th PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club. Almost all of them were proven false. Rumors of a winning score pushing toward 20 under par were debunked. The driver-heavy approach Rory McIlroy preached after his practice rounds proved to be his undoing. The…
NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA “First, I’ve never seen anything like this. When we were out there, I think it’s just the nature of a lot of different things, but yeah, I’ve never seen a leaderboard like this, this bunched up. Going into tomorrow, it’s quite literally anybody’s tournament. There’s a lot of guys that have a…
NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA “This is the hardest set of pin locations that I’ve seen since I’ve been on TOUR, and that includes U.S. Opens, that includes Oakmont. I did ask, I asked Fooch, who caddies for Justin Rose. He’s been around a long time — and I asked Teddy too — have you seen anything…
NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA Q. Garrick, did you know you were a little bit late at that moment? GARRICK HIGGO: “No, I wouldn’t have been late if I knew I was running late.” On-site all week for the second major championship of the season. Our daily recap notes give you a great perspective from the PGA Championship…
