The 16th Presidents Cup matches will take place at Medinah Country Club in the western suburbs of Chicago. By hosting the biannual international match competition, Medinah is the first venue to host a US Open, PGA Championship, Ryder Cup, and Presidents Cup. I think they like their championship golf! The United States is heavily favored (-450), and the number keeps growing. It doesn’t help when our twelfth player wins the Biltmore, and three of their Captains’ picks miss the cut! The exhibition is played over four days and includes 30 H2H matches. Unlike the Ryder Cup, teams need 15.5 points to win. If they tie at 15, both teams share the Cup. Five Fourball matches will be played on Thursday, five Foursomes (alternate shot) matches will be played on Friday. Four Fourball followed by four Foursomes matches on Saturday, and 12 singles matches on Sunday. Captain Geoff Ogilvy (International) and Captain Brandt Snedeker (United States) will announce the Thursday Fourball pairings on Wednesday afternoon at 4:45 p.m. ET.
